Then the panel will investigate how COVID-19 has uncovered new and exacerbated pre-existing issues. The panel will then shift to a conversation about how individuals, civil society, and national and international government agencies can help provide education during times of emergencies. As the global refugee crisis worsens and a chaotic future unfolds, the panel will culminate with a discussion about the future of education for conflict affected individuals.

The Shadow Pandemic Webinar took place on July 29th as a part of the Girl Up Edinburgh Webinar Series: 'Exploring COVID-19's Intersectional Impact on Women and Girls Worldwide." In this discussion, we explored the implications of gender-based violence (GBV) before COVID-19. Later, we investigated how individuals, civil society, and governments respond to COVID-19's exacerbation of GBV, with a focus on intersectionality. This panel highlights children's, LGBTQIA+, BAME, and disabled communities' experiences of The Shadow Pandemic.
